MUSICAL THEATRE
Musical Theatre is the perfect class to allow young performers to explore the three disciplines more in-depth. It is suitable for ages 6 - 18, and classes are split by age.
Our syllabus is geared towards making sure our students get to experience everything, including Acting, exploring various practitioners, Singing (both solo and as part of a chorus/ensemble), Musical Theatre, Shakespeare, Greek Theatre, Public Speaking, Acting for Screen, Voice Work, Movement, various Dance styles and Stage Combat.
Students are given the opportunity to work on repertoire throughout the year, including songs, monologues and duologues. They also have the option to enter the Fèis and examinations in Acting, Oral Communication or Musical Theatre. These are not compulsory.
Over the course of the year, we arrange various masterclasses and workshops with industry professionals, as well as organising class trips to see shows.
Students will perform in the End of Year Showcase, as well as having the opportunity to audition for Encore’s yearly musical.
The syllabus changes each year to ensure students get the chance to experience as many aspects of the Performing Arts as possible.
